June is packed with exciting smartphone launches from top brands like OnePlus and Realme. Here are some upcoming smartphones you should watch out for.
June 2024 promises to be an exciting month for smartphone enthusiasts, with numerous launches on the horizon. Several companies are set to introduce new products, some delivering flagship-like performance at a fraction of the price. Here’s a quick overview of the upcoming smartphones you won’t want to miss this month.
CMF Phone 1
Earlier this month, Nothing teased the launch of its upcoming smartphone, the CMF Phone 1. This device will be the first from the company to forgo the iconic Glyph interface, opting instead for a volume knob-like button on the back.
While details about the button’s functionality remain unclear—whether it will offer additional features or serve purely aesthetic purposes—Nothing has hinted that the CMF Phone 1 will come with unique features to set it apart from the competition.
Speculations suggest the CMF Phone 1 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset and boast a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen. It is expected to run on Nothing OS 2.5, based on Android 14, and may offer up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The phone will reportedly feature a dual camera setup similar to the Nothing Phone (2a), with a 50MP primary camera and a 50MP ultrawide sensor. However, it is still uncertain whether the same sensors will be used or if different ones will be chosen. Considering the Nothing Phone (2a) is currently priced at Rs 23,999, the base variant of the CMF Phone 1 might be priced under Rs 20,000.
Motorola Edge 50 Ultra
Motorola is gearing up to launch its latest flagship phone, the Edge 50 Ultra, in India on June 18. Initially announced in April, the global variant of this phone features the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and a 6.7-inch 144Hz P-OLED screen protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.
Like the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, the Edge 50 Ultra will offer IP68 water and dust resistance and will run on Android 14 out of the box. It boasts a triple camera setup, including a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 64MP periscope telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom.
The global version is equipped with a 4,500mAh battery that supports 125W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. With the Motorola Edge 50 Pro priced at Rs 31,999, the Edge 50 Ultra is expected to be priced between Rs 40,000 and Rs 50,000.
OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite
OnePlus has teased the launch of a new phone, potentially the highly anticipated Nord CE 4 Lite. While OnePlus has yet to confirm the name and specifications, rumors suggest the Nord CE 4 Lite might be a rebranded version of the China-exclusive Oppo K12x.
The upcoming OnePlus phone is expected to feature a 6.67-inch 120Hz FullHD+ AMOLED screen with a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. It may be powered by either the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 or Snapdragon 695 chipset and is likely to run on ColorOS 14 based on Android 14 out of the box.
The rear camera setup might include a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor, with the phone offering up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The device could be powered by a 5,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging and may be priced under Rs 20,000.
Infinix Note 40
Infinix is set to launch the Note 40 in India on June 21. Similar to its Philippine counterpart, the Indian version will feature a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen with a peak brightness of 1,300 nits and Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
The phone is expected to be powered by the Helio G99 Ultimate chipset and run on XOS 14 based on Android 14. The rear camera setup includes a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP sensor. The Infinix Note 40 will be equipped with a 5,000mAh battery supporting 45W wired charging and 20W wireless charging, making it one of the few phones to offer wireless charging under Rs 20,000.
Realme GT 6
Realme’s upcoming flagship phone, the Realme GT 6, is set to launch in India on June 20. The phone will feature a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen and will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.
According to a Flipkart microsite, the Realme GT 6 will sport a 50MP Sony LYT 808 primary camera, an ultrawide lens, and a 2x telephoto sensor.
The Realme GT 6 will also include several AI features, such as ‘AI Smart Removal’ and AI Night Vision, to enhance photos in extremely dark conditions. Rumors suggest that the Realme GT 6 will be priced starting at Rs 37,999, but the official price will be revealed in a few days.
