Samsung has unveiled its latest clamshell-styled foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip6, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and featuring new Galaxy AI enhancements. Alongside the upgraded Galaxy Z Fold 6, Samsung introduced its first smart ring and the Galaxy Watch Ultra at an event in Paris.
“Our foldables meet the unique needs of every user and now enhanced by the power of Galaxy AI, Samsung is delivering an experience like never before,” said TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics.
The Galaxy Z Flip6 boasts a 6.7-inch foldable primary display with up to 2,600 nits of peak brightness and a 4,000mAh battery, the largest ever in a Z Flip. It also features a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED Flex Window, allowing users to access AI functions, Samsung Health, and widgets without unfolding the phone. Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, it is the first Z Flip to include a vapor chamber cooling system, ensuring sustained peak performance with 12GB of RAM and 256/512GB of internal storage. The base variant of the Galaxy Z Flip6 is priced at Rs 1,09,999.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 offers a 7.6-inch 120Hz sAMOLED inner screen and a larger 6.3-inch external screen with a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits, also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It features an improved dual rail hinge structure with a strengthened folding edge and IP48 water and dust resistance. The phone’s camera setup includes a 50MP primary camera, a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide sensor. It has a 4,400mAh battery and the base variant, with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, is priced at Rs 1,64,999. Both new phones will be available for purchase starting July 24.
Samsung’s Galaxy Ring, described as “the pinnacle of unobtrusive health technology,” includes various sensors to measure health metrics such as sleep, activity, and heart rate. Made from grade 5 titanium, the lightweight yet sturdy ring is designed for 24/7 health monitoring. Weighing between 2.3 grams and 3.0 grams, it is compatible with other Galaxy devices. The Galaxy Ring will be available in select markets starting July 24 for $399 (approx. Rs 33,400) without requiring any additional subscription.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra features a titanium cushioned frame and a 1.5-inch AMOLED screen with up to 3,000 nits brightness, making it Samsung’s most premium smartwatch. Here’s what you need to know:
Competing with the Apple Watch Ultra 2, the Galaxy Watch Ultra has a 1.5-inch Sapphire Crystal screen with a 480×480 pixel AMOLED panel. It is the first smartwatch to come with One UI 6 based on WearOS out of the box. This latest software includes new health tracking features such as Energy Score, which is similar to Fitbit’s Readiness Score. Energy Score evaluates your physical and mental conditions across four factors—sleep, activity, sleeping heart rate, and sleeping heart rate variability—to provide insights into your body’s energy levels.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra is equipped with the new BioActive Sensor, which Samsung claims is 30 percent more accurate than previous versions. It also includes a temperature sensor, accelerometer, barometer, gyro sensor, and light sensor. Available in only one screen size, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is priced at Rs 59,999.
