Airtel now offers 1 GB of data loan, which will be recovered the next time you recharge.
Mobile data usage in India has surged significantly since the advent of 4G accessibility. According to the recent Nokia MBiT Index Report, the average user consumed 24.1 GB of data per month in 2023.
Many individuals often find themselves running out of data, especially due to the prevalent daily limit data plans offered by most telecom providers. If you’re unable to acquire an add-on data pack through recharge, here’s how you can secure a data loan from Airtel and Jio.
How to get free data from Jio
Previously, Jio provided an emergency data voucher feature for prepaid users, but it has since been discontinued. Nevertheless, through the MyJio app, users can still access free data using the following method:
- Open the MyJio app.
- Click on Play & Win.
- Select any of the offer banners.
- Answer simple questions to stand a chance to win data vouchers of up to 6 GB for free.
Please be aware that to participate in these games, you will be required to enter details such as your name, phone number, email ID, and more. These details may be shared with partners. Additionally, there are numerous games available on MyJio that currently provide free 4G data vouchers.
How to get a data loan from Airtel
Unlike Jio, Airtel still offers data loans for both 2G and 4G users. Users can either call ‘52141’ or dial ‘5673#’ to get a 1 GB data loan. However, this service is only available to customers who have been with the network for at least three months. The 1 GB data loan is valid for two days and does not support carry forward.
When you recharge your number with a new data pack, Airtel will deduct 1 GB from that. You won’t be able to take an additional data loan until you clear the outstanding loan.
These tricks can be helpful when you urgently need data but cannot recharge your number.
